In 2017, Governor Brown assembled a team of California biodiversity experts to draft a charter on native plant biodiversity conservation. Our "Charter to Secure the Future of California's Native Biodiversity" defined a vision and guided development of California's Biodiversity Initiative Roadmap, unveiled in September along with important executive orders on biodiversity.
Now, state agencies, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), and Universities are working to advance the vision. Californians are ready to show the rest of the nation how an enlightened civilization lives rightly in a global biodiversity hotspot. We encourage you to join this exciting effort.
